ABSTRACT This article analyses one of the first innovation management standards worldwide: UNE 166002:2006. It begins with a brief description of the objectives of the various standards from the same family. The great importance of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for a successful implementation is then analysed. The article discusses the role of the ICT in the systematization of some of the main activities involved in the innovation process, such as technological watch, creativity, knowledge management and technological forecasting.
