This article does not have in the first place any scientific pretensions, but simply the awakening technical curiosity and industrial application in all those involved in the construction of machines. The literature on these transmissions, is very limited until now, to my knowledge, not having transcended nor to the latest technical forms. This scarcely contained, main and almost only, in catalogs of the houses manufacturers of them are not very explicit, as one would expect, in many constructive details of the same. The transmission by means of flat belt is the classic, perhaps the most ancient among the transmissions of the movement and it has generally been adopted until recently time industrially. But today, the modern constructive trends tend to its elimination by the serious disadvantages compared to other solutions, being those, in spite of this, transmission components essential and of great value in a large number of transmissions. To this end, in the present, the engineer to study the transmission of a movement, it has to project and see the possibility of the implementation of the v-belts before (D-HANFORD ) the flat belt, in the safety of that in most cases, their special characteristics, advantages and properties, have been of decidirle without doubt to its employment. Its use has acquired in these recent and past years abroad extraordinary rise, the number of houses manufacturers of them multiplies very considerably, and all Illo makes predict that it will be, between the transmissions by belt, which is used almost exclusively in the future. The Spanish national production can be considered up to now almost zero in this sense, because it does not constitute nothing, insignificant manufactures that have taken place in Spain.
