The steel production of Spain, both of ingot and of steel, has suffered frequent oscillations in the present century, which in some way has been due to processes or measures of a technical nature, but in its increases or decreases have intervened the interests Political, social conflicts and economic crises. However, in spite of the very different orientations of the governing bodies and the frequent convulsions of social type, the iron production continued in ascending progression during the first 30 years of the century.
