ABSTRACT The quality costs are an effective tool to measure the continual improvement in a quality management program. It was made a bibliographical revision and discussion of present publications on the generic models of quality costs and the applied ones to construction projects (QPMS, QPTS, QCM, CQCQS, QCPCM y PROMQACS). It was observed that the approaches developed and applied in construction projects it is made from that construction started on site, and they do not take into account the failures and quality management costs within the processes of design. Thereby, this work proposes an approach for measuring and tracking quality costs in design of construction projects (QCDCP), based on the Process Cost Model (PCM) and on the Projects Design Methodology of the Technical University of Catalonia (MDP-UPC), in a context where the number of publications on quality costs is limited. Key words: Quality Costs, Processes, Models, Construction Projects.
