If there is one thing that is a constant over time, it is continuous change. At present, change is being even faster and much more radical, and the Covid crisis19 has not been alien to this scenario. The emerging (low-cost) countries are catching up with and surpassing those that were supposed to be economic leaders. In this context, economic activities that can incorporate professionals who have graduated from industrial engineering schools, today demand knowledge and skills that traditionally have not been frequent or sufficiently addressed in their preparation, due to the incorporation into industry, from design to production, of technologies included in the well-known concept called "Industry 4.0".
