The 3D reconstruction of the heritage elements is currently one of the useful tools for the recovering and setting in value of those object that has been disappeared. In the case of the mines of Almaden (Ciudad Real), until their declaration by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, some of the buildings, machines and installations of historical and technological value have been lost. Among these singular elements, the ones that they are not barely vestiges of, it is the first steam engine installed in this mining establishment in the year 1785 that was in turn the first of these characteristics installed in a Spanish mine. This work shown how the boilers of this machine were, from the study of its original plane of 1830, its technological and historical context, the procedure followed to make the 3D reconstruction and the construction of a maquette at 1:25 scale.Key words: heritage, history of the technology, steam engine, 3D reconstruction.
