ABSTRACT Technology surrounds us everywhere, invades our lives, modifies our habits and many times we find ourselves slaves of it indeed. Industrial field is, like many others, a field where technology and society merge with each other. However engeniers have traditionally tend to ignore the relations between Society and Technology when considering industrial processes. In this paper we try to show a more social image of technology, a constructivist one that will shed light over the way of the success or failure of industrial products that in most cases have a social rather than technological origin. Key words: design, constructivism, technology.
