TWI has completed a two-year period to produce a system capable of non-destructively inspecting rail heads and automatically recording defects at speeds of up to 70 mph (113 km / h). Acting as leader of the RIFLEX consortium, an EU-funded project, TWI developed the inspection module to be applied on mobile bogies.
