ABSTRACTDuring last years, a lot of effort has been taken in order to find new Non Destructive Testing (NDT) methods to complement the traditional ones and try to solve their usual disadvantages. One of these new methods is the one known as ACFM (Alternating Current Field Measurement). This technique allows the user to detect and size surface cracks in welds and metallic components in general, in a fast and easy way thanks to the capability to work without the need of preparing the surface, calibrations and the possibility of remote inspections. Key words: Crack detection and sizing, no surface cleaning, no calibration.
