En mayo de 2006 se inauguraron las obras principales del Proyecto de las Tres Gargantas, la obra más ambiciosa emprendida por China desde que deslumbrara al mundo antiguo con su Gran Muralla. Es inevitable que obras de tal magnitud impliquen consecuencias importantes para el medio ambiente y estas repercusiones están por ver en un futuro difícil de prever dada la lentitud con que la Naturaleza responde a las agresiones de que es objeto por parte del hombre. THE THREE THROATS ANOTHER NEW CHINESE PROJECT ABSTRACT In may 2006 the main works of the Three Throats Project were inaugurated being the most ambitious work undertaken by China since it dazzled to the World with the Great Wall. It is inavoidable that works of such magnitude do not imply important consequences for the environment and these repercussions are about to be seen in a future difficult to anticipate given slowness whereupon the Nature responds to the human aggressions.
