ABSTRACT
Independent Power Production encouraged worldwide by the energy crisis and increased in Spain in such a way that frequent adjustment in their fostering regulations was required. The particularities of the Spanish market for electricity distort the logic of the pricing system and disturb the proper understanding of advantages and drawbacks regarding independent power production.
