In this paper it is presented an algorithm with the goal of finding the optimal parallel cutting lines on an irregular wood board. It is obtained a parametrization corresponding to the largest rectangle of useful wood that indicates who to eliminate the dispensable bark of the tree. The algorithm has been codified in "C" programming language and subsequently it has been implemented in a microprocessor linked to a production line, so that the regulation of the machine is automatic and the result is optimum. The production line is composed by a supply chain, holding arms, and band saw and it can be integrated a series of scanner devices that pick up and parametrize the boundaries of the board. The designed algorithm uses very few variables and arithmetic operations with the aim of getting an efficient response from the microprocessor reducing as much as possible the computational cost. The proposed automation in the band saw machine improves the duration of board cutting process and the dimensions of the useful wood pieces.
