ABSTRACTIn this paper it is established an analytical design methodology for pressure gas bottles based on strength analytical technics. This methodology can be used not only for metal (steel or aluminium) bottles but also for mixed metal and composite (one or more layers). To make the analysis and the design some aspects must take in mind: resistance, weight and price and the methodology must allow solving easily and quickly any material combination. As well it can be analyzed each zone of the bottle: head, body and button. In this paper some materials have been analyzed: steel, aluminium, carbon fibre, basalt fibre and some material combinations too. To end, it has been verified the analytical obtained results in terms of resistance using numerical methods, like finite elements method (FEM)KEYWORDS: bottle, composite, gas, resistance, FEM, design, analytical.
