El proceso de liberalización en el que está inmerso el Sector Eléctrico Español ha comenzado su andadura en 1998. En los años precedentes se ha ido avanzando en su diseño interviniendo todos los agentes afectados. Se trata de presentar los hitos más importantes de este proceso, describir los
agentes implicados y sus funciones, mostrar el funcionamiento del nuevo mercado y exponer la situación en la que actualmente se encuentra. Además, se da una idea de los conceptos que intervienen en la formación de precios en el nuevo mercado.
