The article aims to present the results obtained during the design process of a tool for safety assessment in construction projects. The research was conducted during the years 2006, 2008 and 2012 from monitoring and evaluation of a total of 314 construction projects carried out by an engineering and architecture company.
Through a panel of experts, a questionnaire has been designed consisting of 17 items that allows the assessment of the overall security status, which was subsequently validated in-the company.
The use of the questionnaire and the deployment of a plan to improve safety has been a considerable increase in safety levels in the projects in which the company participates.
