Cristina Gutiérrez-Cañas estudió Ingeniería Industrial en la Escuela entre 1978 y 1984. Obtuvo la Cátedra de Ingeniería Química y ha ejercido como profesora en el Departamento de Ingeniería Química de esta Escuela, así como de Subdirectora de Relaciones Externas. Hoy en día es la Vicerrectora de Profesorado de la UPV (señalamos que el día en que se realizó la entrevista, Cristina Gutiérrez-Cañas ocupaba este cargo, aunque actualmente no sea así) .
