This paper shows a comparative study of two types of forging specimens (Rastegaev and Stauchprobe) in order to obtain stress flow curves at compressive loads with a wide range of temperature, by using a Finite Element Analysis. The main aim is to determine which specimen shows the minimum barreling phenomena under compression at different temperature condition. After the data were obtained, a comparative analysis leads to conclude that the Stauchprobe specimen shows better compressive performance. Keywords: Finite Element Method; barreling; compression test; forging test.
