A key aspect in the design of slabs for collecting mineral, is the determination of the maximum pressure low mineral stockpile, and its location, given the pressure drop in the central part of the base of a stockpile. This pressure drop causes that the maximum pressure moves away from center of the stockpile, and it was less than the hydrostatic pressure.Despite the efforts made by the scientific community to determine the factors that influence in the change of pressure under the stockpile, there is no consensus about the factors that influence or the method of calculation to determine the maximum pressure. Therefore, this contribution seeks and presents a new method for the determination of the maximum pressure low mineral stockpile, adapting the method of Janssen for silos. Keywords: Janssen’s Method, maximum pressure, mineral stockpiles, predictive method
