The research presents the developments carried out on the application and validation of new pattern designs using different geometries for road marking.First of all a software for testing multiple patterns was created for the selection of the most suitable patterns. Two patterns were selected. This selection was based on the level of perception of different users.Subsequently we proceeded to install a few prototypes of painted bands of the selected patterns and perception surveys were carried out in two test tracks. The patterns that no longer showed significant differences with respect to a painted reference conventional mark. It allows to reduce costs associated with the saving of paint used in its marking. Its standardization will require road testing and validation to promote changes in the existing legislation. Keywords: signalling, patterns, geometries, road marking, pavement, road simulation, software
