ABSTRACT At the same time that energy demand grows faster than the investments in electrical installations, the older capacity is reaching the end of its useful life. The need of running all those capacity without interruptions and an efficient maintenance of its assets, are the two current key points for power generation, transmission and distribution systems. This paper tries to show the reader a model of management which makes possible an effective management of assets with a strict control cost, and which includes those key points, centered at predictive techniques, involving all the departments of the organization and which goes further on considering the maintenance like a simple reparation or substitution of broken down units. Therefore, it becomes precise a model with three basic lines: supply guarantee, quality service and competitivity, in order to allow the companies to reach the current demands which characterize the power supply. Key words: energy, asset, management, maintenance and risk.
