RESEARCH ARTICLES

ABSTRACT:
The onshore wind turbine supply chain models are currently under evolution due to the global and regional yearly demand variations in the onshore wind sector.
The aim of this research is to synthesize the vertical and horizontal onshore supply chain models characteristics, as well as their localization models, assessing advantages/disadvantages and identifying the factors of influence and competitiveness specially in declining markets like the present and the forecasted in the next years.
As contribution of this article, and with the aim of proposing improvements in the wind supply chain competitiveness, specially in recessive markets, it is proposed the assessment and implementation of improvement proposal factors in their different areas. These improvement factors are based on data provided by supply chain research articles which were developed recently, reports and surveys carried out specifically in the wind sector by consultants.
The featured article's contribution lies in the combination between the factor's identification which affect the onshore supply chain in recessive markets scenarios, and a non-exhaustive summary of potential improvement actions to be developed, with the purpose of providing the onshore wind industry with a competitive supply chain which contributes with cost savings.

Keywords: supply chain, wind market, wind sector, wind turbine generators onshore
