ABSTRACT:Procurement decisions in a traditional model of purchase are primarily based on price without consideration of practically any other factor, following a short-term vision. For short life cycle products, this approach can be considered valid, but it has been shown that for goods with a long life cycle such an approach is not adequate enough. This paper proposes an exhaustive study of LCC (Life Cycle Cost) of a ship-to-shore crane. As a result of the study, some critical factors are identified and used for the improvement of design and product development, maintenance and analysis in the process of purchase or renewal.Key Words: Life Cycle Cost, Product Life Cycle, Product development.
